Hello, I’m Jake McCarney, thank you for visiting my website!
I am a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional!
Let’s talk, call me!
I believe competent objective financial advice should be accessible to all individuals and families. You don’t need to be wealthy to get access to a real financial planner. Have a financial question? Don’t know where to start? Want to ask a question to a financial planner with no obligation? Just call me! If you ask my opinion, I’ll give it. I will bring my knowledge and years of financial planning experience to the table, hopefully information that can help you make better financial decisions.
My Story
I grew up in a small town in Idaho, where I had the opportunity to forge relationships with so many people, the many benefits of living in a small town. My parents were amazing and they made the dinner hour an important time to strengthen our family relationships. Our vacations were camping trips and movie nights happened in the family room, not the theatre. I knew the budget was tight, but I was blessed with hard working parents who taught me to have a good attitude and be grateful for the simple things. As I worked my way through college, I learned the importance of short-term goals, not letting immediate gratification get in the way of what matters most, patience, and hard work. I knew if I wanted to improve my financial situation, it was up to me to make good decisions, work hard, and save!
Why I became a CFP® professional
How do you know if you are getting good advice? We have a “Standard Crisis” in the financial industry, not everyone practices as a Fiduciary, and not every advisor is a real financial planner. Some advisors just sell products such as life insurance or annuities. If you don’t know what the Fiduciary Standard is, google it. Advisors who just sell certain products might not have the proper training or knowledge to take a comprehensive approach to financial planning, even more regrettably, the consumer doesn’t usually know how to differentiate between a sales person and a financial planner. Consumers beware, especially when it comes to financial products. It’s in your best interest to work with a real financial planner that will not “prescribe” before thoroughly diagnosing. This is why I decided to earn the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification. I want my clients to have the confidence that I am uniquely qualified, experienced, and knowledgeable to offer objective financial advice. I promise to listen and thoroughly diagnose before prescribing a financial path that will help you to reach your goals.
How one becomes a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional
The CFP® certification is the highest standard in financial planning. Only a select group of planners have met the rigorous requirements necessary to call themselves a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. To become a CFP® professional one must complete the following requirements:
